The FIGC and president Gabriele Gravina wish to express their condolences for the passing of Aldo Agroppi, at the age of 80. Agroppi spent his career as a footballer with Torino, wearing the Granata shirt from 1967 to 1975, before ending it with Perugia. He also collected five games with the Italian team between 1972 and 1973.
As a coach, Agroppi led Pescara, Pisa, Perugia, Padova, Fiorentina, Como and Ascoli, before also working as a television and radio pundit.
'The passing of Aldo Agroppi represents a great loss for Italian football,' said FIGC president Gabriele Gravina. 'As a footballer then a coach, he went through decades as a star of Italian football, showing excellent technical qualities and great personality. Characteristics that he also retained in his role as a commentator, always true and never banal.'
To commemorate Agroppi, the FIGC has ordered a minute's silence before the matches scheduled for the weekend, including early and late kick-offs.
